" Thou comest to me with a sword and a spear and a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the L-rd of Hosts, the G-d of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast humiliated..." (I Samuel, 17:45-47)

More Word Power!

Today's word is "ceasefire". Can you say ceasefire? In Israel, the word has an interesting definition.

CEASEFIRE- When the government of Israel ceases to protect its citizens against a vicious enemy that started a conflict, followed by a process where the enemy continues to fire its rockets. This type of ceasefire or "truce" is common enough in Israeli diplomacy.

The normal mind cannot understand the thought process of the average Israeli politician, who appears to want to see his country become Judenrein. Hence the need to explain these words to the reader.  Tomorrow there will be other words. Perhaps we will discuss the modern Israeli Judenrat or the interesting creatures known as the lemming and quisling.
