" Thou comest to me with a sword and a spear and a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the L-rd of Hosts, the G-d of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast humiliated..." (I Samuel, 17:45-47)

Rav Melamed Backs Down! (audio)

A short audio about Rav Melamed's about-face on the issue of religious soldiers protesting in the IDF.

Addendum-Dec. 23, 2oo9: As I expected, Barak is refusing to reinstate R' Melamed's yeshiva into the hesder program. Now what does R' Melamed do? The Torah has been compromised, and his "apology" has gotten him nothing. It doesn't matter whether or not some future minister (or even Barak) changes this decision. The most tragic thing is that R' Melamed has removed himself as a future mouthpiece on any of these provocative issues. This may have been Barak's greatest victory in his continuous war with Judaism.

  1. And earlier today, Ehud Barak, the new high priest of baal, declared, "The State has an army and the army is under the authority of the State, and of no other body.”

At least he managed to put to word what we already knew: the mamlachtim have replaced Hashem with the "State." Now the Hesder yeshiva heads are the new idol's priests. Maybe we should send them honey baked hams for Asara b'Tevet. I don't see much point to their fasting.

Still, I keep hoping we'll have a Defense Minister who declares the army is under the authority of Hashem, and of no other body. We've got a long row to hoe before we see that.

Keep on telling the truth my friend.

  2. It's pretty scary to see their love for a treif entity that is violently opposed to yahadut. There is no doubt that this has become a form of idolatry. The "hesder" movement has abandoned Torah. There is no way to dance around it.
