There is no greater chillul Hashem than the abominations of the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa mosque that sit on Har Habayit, the very place where the Almighty tested Abraham, and where the first and second Jewish Temples stood. Today the Temple Mount is not in our hands, and it is delusional to think otherwise. The Nazis of the Jordanian Wakf are in control, and the sanctity of the area is stained by this insanity. On Har Habayit, Islam spits at the Almighty and the Law of Moses. On Har Habayit, Jews are forbidden to pray, while Ishmael's guttural caterwauls resonate throughout the Old City. Islam's control of Temple Mount emboldens and convinces them that soon all of Israel will be Judenrein.
There are no Jews, shuls, or JCC's in Saudi Arabia. If they found a Jew in Saudi Arabia today, he would be a head shorter before you could bat an eyelid. The idea of a synagogue in Mecca is absurd, let alone the fantastical notion of a Mecca controlled by Jews. And so the reverse scenario should be equally absurd, and Jews should understand this. Let the abominations on top of Har Habayit be relocated to Mecca, where there are no Jews or shuls, and where the common man believes that you and I drink the blood of Muslim children.
Until the Jews of Israel insist that the insanities that make up day-to-day life in Israel come to an end, Israel will continue with its suicide solution. If one wants to understand why Israel is killing itself through appeasement and territorial concession, why the idea of transferring the hostile Arabs is anathema, and why rockets are allowed to rain down on the heads of the Jews of S'derot, look at the Temple Mount. The abominations on the Temple Mount explain it all, the fear and appeasement of the enemy, and the apathy and antipathy to all things Jewish. Many things in the old city in Jerusalem upset me. The beggars hawking chamsas and red strings, the "na na nuts", the idolization of the kotel (Western wall) in general. Nothing upsets me as much as Amalek's architecture on the Temple Mount.
One final thing. The Rambam prayed on top of Har Habayit. In recent times, the esteemed Halachic decisor, Reb Moshe Tendler, shlitah (the son-in-law of Reb Moshe, zt"l) ascended Har Habayit. I would advise those in the "frum" camp who are happy that Har Habayit is controlled by Arabs (because in their ignorance they believe it is forbidden to visit the permissible areas) to learn the sugyah (topic) properly before commenting. The issue of Har Habayit is one of Kiddush Hashem versus chillul Hashem. Right now the chillul is winning.
